Proof Silver Eagles

The proof silver eagle was minted from 1986 through the present time. Sometimes called silver eagle dollars, these coins are 1 troy oz. of fine silver (99.9%). Since their introduction, they have become one of the more popular coins to collect in the coin collecting arena.

The mirror like surface on the coin is achieved by striking the coin with highly polished dies, several times at a slow speed, using more pressure than coins designed for general circulation.

Proof silver eagles come in a plastic capsule, mounted in an attractive velvet display box  with an eagle on the front and with a certificate of authenticity. This display box is then put in a cardboard box to protect it.  All proof eagles that we offer come complete, including documentation. To keep these coin in a good condition, it is recommended to store them in a cool dry place.

The reverse of the silver eagle shows a Heraldic eagle with a shield, arrows in the left talon,
and an olive branch in the right talon.
